Next Honda S2000 Confirmed, Warning Shots Aimed At Mazda MX-5 & Fiat 124

Finally, Honda has shown a great deal of interest to compete with the Mazda MX-5 Miata and the Fiat 124 Abarth. The Japanese carmaker has confirmed that they are building the next-gen S2000 and the car is expected to arrive next year.
The next S2000 will be built on the mid-engine architecture and it will run on the same 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that is being deployed on the Civic. The engine is refined to generate up to 220hp and 200ft-lbs of torque.
Honda teased that the S2000 will be able to sprint from 0-60mph in about 4 seconds and the car will weigh at just 2100 pounds. That is extremely light for the vehicle and we certainly can’t wait to test it out. For the full details on the S2000, you can check out the teaser video below.
