Fans of Ford Mustang Push Muscle Cars to the Limit in Spain.!

SEGOVIA, Spain – The owners of 40 Ford Mustangs from across Spain gathered on Sunday at the Fuentemilanos airport in Segovia, giving fans of American muscle cars an opportunity to get close to “beasts” with high-performance engines that have between 210 and 850 horsepower.

The 2nd Mustang Day featured 40 models from 1964 to 2015 with V6, V8, GT, GT 500 and special engines, event organizer Sergio Diaz told EFE.

Lovers of the American muscle cars put the engines to the test in a quarter-mile run at the rally, the distance “where they perform best,” Diaz said.

Prizes were handed out for the best engine and best detailing in Segovia on Sunday, a day after the cars made their way through the streets of Madrid, where onlookers got a look at the vehicles, many of which are collector items.

The Ford Mustang has appeared in numerous films, including “Bullitt,” a 1968 action movie that starred Steve McQueen and featured what many say is the greatest car chase ever filmed.

The non-profit Madrid American Cars club, which organized the rally, continues to work on new events that will allow fans of U.S. automobiles to “spend an enjoyable weekend with their families and share their great passion.
